Small business does not skimp on IT

These data are provided by the company “R7-Office” based on the results of the study.

The participants named security (93%), IP-telephony (92%) and banking systems (89%) as the most popular items of expenses from the IT budget. At the same time, in monetary terms, only security remains in the top 3. It accounts for an average of 197 thousand rubles a year, and this is the largest IT-expenditure among the surveyed companies.

Businessmen also allocate budgets over 100 thousand rubles for cloud storage (168 thousand rubles), one-time maintenance and setting up programs (117 thousand rubles), as well as CRM and project management (116 350 rubles).

The cost of postal services and office editors does not exceed 60 thousand rubles per year. This is due to the fact that many entrepreneurs choose free browser solutions with limited functionality to solve such problems.

Ruslan Melnikov, Director of Corporate Clients at Softline, notes that small and medium-sized businesses are quite active in spending money on IT, there was a certain decline in the COVID year, but now companies are reaching the pre-crisis level, we on average estimate spending about 3% of the revenue of companies, for example, in the small business segment, the figure can reach in Russia (companies with an average staff of 28 people, a turnover of 130 million rubles) out of a total turnover of about 29 trillion. rubles, IT costs, respectively, about 93 billion rubles. and that’s just a small business.

“Cautious assessments can be made in the field of so-called” hardware “and import substitution, we see this in deferred deliveries associated with disruption of logistics, trade conflicts in the global market, small businesses are very sensitive to the themes of a universal workplace, when an employee can access everything company resources from any BYOD (bring your own device) device, as well as analysts, “Ruslan Melnikov emphasizes.

Currently, no one can give an accurate assessment of whether a business will spend more on IT, says Ruslan Melnikov. The market dictates in different directions, somewhere around 20%, somewhere around 30%, this is the inclusion of VAT in contracts for foreign supplies, and the rush demand for processor computing, and the requirements of regulators, and the traditional annual price increases from suppliers. The world is beginning to recover and requires closing the blanks and gaps caused by the general pandemic. You can definitely expect growth in hardware, clouds and services related to both development and implementation in the IT market.

Sergey Ivanov, Director for Product Strategy of T1 Group, notes that the level financing, as well as the degree of satisfaction with IT solutions, in small and medium-sized businesses is dictated by the level of maturity of the owner and the business itself. If the company is actively working in e-commerce segment, the costs given in the study will not cover even the minimum needs of the company, especially in the field of information security and work with aggregators and marketplaces. If this is a retail format walking distance, then he does not need difficult decisions.

Due to the fact that completely different types of activity and business fall into the SMB segment, it is impossible to determine a single level of informatization or underfunding, emphasizes Sergey Ivanov.

Of course, the growth of IT costs will continue, but will not lead to an increase in the overall level of expenses: IT functions will partially replace other types of expenses in the structure of the company’s budget. For example: the cost of couriers or forwarders will be transformed into a subscription to services that solve this problem, says Sergei Ivanov.
