Professional boxer Tyson Fury sold a non-fungible token (NFT) for $ 987,000. Bidding took place on the HoDooi marketplace.
An NFT called Lineal by Tyson Fury has become one of the most expensive sports themed. For comparison, football player Cristiano Ronaldo sold a non-fungible token for $ 300,000, and basketball player LeBron James for $ 200,000.
An NFT buyer will also receive a physical 5×5 foot (~ 152×152 cm) token signed by Tyson Fury, an autographed boxing glove, and a video congratulation.
“It was great working with the HoDooi team and I’m glad we are all part of a story with one of the highest stakes in one sports NFT,” commented Fury.
Also on sale is a collection of non-fungible boxer tokens in five rarity categories: Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Launched on July 14, the HoDooi marketplace runs on the Binance Smart Chain blockchain.
Recall that Sotheby’s sold the source code of the Internet in the form of NFT for $ 5.4 million.
